LPITS is providing free wireless internet connectivity to the public in the following locations:
2nd floor of the State House between the House and Senate Chambers;
1st floor of the State House at the visitor seating areas near the stairs; and,
the Blatt and Gressette Buildings.
This access is as secure as any dial-up Internet account. It's always a good idea to be on an encrypted web page to send and receive confidential data.
The use of this service constitutes agreement that LPITS is not liable or responsible for any damages resulting from use of this service including, but not limited to, viruses, e-mail fraud, identity theft or other injury.
Necessary Equipment…
You need a laptop or notebook computer equipped with a standard internet browser and wireless Ethernet card (802.11 b or g). In most cases, the card is installed in the PCMCIA slot on the side of the computer.
How To Connect…
Make sure your wireless software and card are installed properly and turn on your computer. From your wireless network link, choose the "scstatehouse" wireless network to begin browsing the internet.
